CHURCH AT THE BRIDGE

Congregation

We meet as congregations across 2-3 bases. This is a space for encounter and equipping as we seek God’s presence, learn from the Bible and respond to what God’s saying to us. It’s a time to share stories of what God’s doing.

  • Each Sunday at 10.30am at each of our bases, details on location below.

  • This is those that are part of that church base and those exploring and trying church. This is up to 200 people before we make plans to multiply/plant.

  • St John’s Church

Community

Having places of welcome and belonging is such an important part of being a disciple of Jesus. That is why our communities are so vital, and having the landscape in which they meet being flexible. Communities meet monthly, on the third Sunday - which is traditionally known as Community Sunday.

  • The third calendar Sunday on each month we meet.

  • Everyone who is part of the church is invited to belong to a community as an extended family sharing life together. This is usually between 30-70 people.

  • This could be in the church, in the park or doing an activity. Details are communicated each month.

  • This could be having lunch and remember Jesus, litter picking, engaging with a local community activity, hosting an event a group of people, arranging an activity in The Garden of Hope. Community Co-ordinators organise these and communicate.

Connect Groups

We’ve designed Connect Groups for a Year long season, a space for deepening relation and encouraging one another in mission: a space to learn from the Bible, champion each other and identify and pray for ‘people of peace’. Spurring each other to be great and effective disciple makers.

  • Usually weekly, sometimes bi-weekly.

  • Those that are looking to deepen their relationships with others and with God. This is usually 4-12 people.

  • Usually someone hosts these groups in the home.

Contact Groups

These groups are places of widening relationships with those exploring faith and experiencing welcome. This will be a space for people who are just exploring faith and those who want to share faith with Jesus to journey together. These groups are usually dreamed up by those exploring faith.

  • Usually weekly, sometimes bi-weekly.

  • Those that are journeying together to explore faith and relationship, these groups are designed people new to faith or exploring it. This is usually 3-6 Christians but the group is usually 5+ people.

  • Usually someone hosts these groups in the home.

Accountability

These are places of vulnerability and honesty and are single gendered and are spaces for deep discipleship and relationship. The aim is to have accountability that spur us into greater levels of intimacy with Jesus. This is for our whole lives (uncomfortable part too,) to be transformed.

  • Weekly or bi-weekly

  • 2 or 3 people of the same gender ready to trust and share vulnerably.

  • This can be in your home, a café or on a walk. Your choice where to meet to share opening.
